Halloween Week in Lakewood Ranch: Where Wednesday and Friday Still Have Room

By October 9, Fine Wine & Tastings had already marked its HalloWine Walk 2026 "EVENT SOLD OUT." That was the one ticketed Halloween event on Lakewood Ranch Main Street this year, and it filled almost three weeks ahead. The rest of the week is still open. It costs nothing to get in and needs no registration, and it splits between two places. Wednesday, October 28, goes to Waterside Place, where it's mini golf night. Friday, October 30, is BooFest on Main Street, with a stage schedule you can plan your evening around. Halloween itself falls on a Saturday this year, so those two weeknights carry most of the community calendar.

The ticket that's already gone

If you were planning on the HalloWine Walk, here's what sold out. The official event listing describes "Adult Trick or Treating" from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, with more than 20 wines poured at seven tasting stations inside Main Street stores. Tickets were $55 per person, limited in number and 21+ with valid photo ID. Each ticket came with a souvenir Govino tasting glass and a tasting map. Featured wines are 10% off, and cases are 15% off. Fine Wine & Tastings is at 8111 Lakewood Main Street, Unit J105.

If you have a ticket, one more detail matters. The listing says walkers can get discounts and specials at participating Main Street restaurants afterward, and it recommends reserving dinner ahead of time. With the walk sold out, Main Street will be busy that Wednesday evening, which is a good reason to book a table early.

Checking the Fine Wine & Tastings events page for any change before you give up costs nothing. Without a ticket, though, Wednesday's free option is a few miles south at Waterside Place.

Wednesday moves to Waterside Place

Ranch Nite Wednesdays is scheduled at Waterside Place, 1560 Lakefront Drive, every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. through May 26, 2027. The setup is food trucks, drinks to go from restaurants' outdoor bars, live music, and the cornhole league hosted by MVP Sports & Social, which the event page calls the largest recreational cornhole league in the nation.

Which Wednesday it is matters, because Gateway Park changes its activity each week of the month:

  • 1st Wednesday: Goat Yoga with Blissful Goat Yoga, registration required
  • 2nd Wednesday: drop-in line dancing, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • 3rd Wednesday: Sunset Drop-In Pilates with BODYBAR at 6 p.m., registration required
  • 4th Wednesday: 9-hole mini golf, 6 to 9 p.m.

October 2026 has Wednesdays on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, so October 28 is the fourth Wednesday. On the same night the wine walk fills Main Street, Gateway Park will have a 9-hole mini golf course, and you don't need to register for it. That's a good plan for a household with kids too young for a 21+ wine walk, or for anyone who missed the ticket window. The Waterside Place tenant map linked from the event page shows where Gateway Park is.

A few house rules from the event page are worth knowing before you load the car. Leave coolers at home, since no outside food or beverages are allowed. Dogs are welcome on a short leash.

The food truck lineup changes each week. On October 14, the page listed Wingz N Thingz, Titos Latin Cuisine, Yo Daddio! Barbecure, Pierogi R US, Big Chef American Cuisine, Kurtos Chimmey Cakes, Asianessence, Nas Philly Steaks, Tervone's Kitchen, Bevs, Spelltacular Sweets and Sweet Addy's, with The Kara Nally Band playing. That shows how big a night it can be. It isn't a promise for the 28th, so check the page that afternoon for the current lineup.

Check it for weather too. The season's first Ranch Nite on October 7 was canceled because of weather, and the cancellation notice went up on the same event page. If storms build late in the afternoon on the 28th, look there first.

Or stay on Main Street at Delany's

If you'd rather stay closer to the wine walk crowd, there's live music on Main Street Wednesday night. Delany's Public House, at 8110 Lakewood Main Street, has the Prodigal Sons Duo from 7 to 10 p.m. on October 28. The restaurant takes show-night reservations through Resy and suggests arriving about 30 minutes before the band starts. It also notes that a table reservation doesn't guarantee a view of the stage.

Delany's is the newest restaurant in this story. It opened July 23, and the Bradenton Herald reported that co-owner Tory Delany and her partners, her husband Darren Shore and Kevin O'Hanlon, spent about 13 months renovating the space. The same Herald piece says the partners are from Ireland, own restaurants in New York City, and first came to the area to open Allswell Craft Cocktails & Kitchen at Waterside Place. The same owners run restaurants at both of Wednesday's gathering spots, Waterside Place and Main Street.

The space itself has a long history on Main Street. According to the Herald, it housed McAllister's, a Scottish-themed restaurant, from 2006 to 2020, and then McGrath's Kitchen & Cocktails, which closed in 2025. In the same story, Tory Delany singled out an eight-hour braised lamb shank served with roasted potatoes and string beans. The current menu lists fish and chips at $22 and the Irish Spice Bag at $18 to $22, depending on whether you choose crispy chicken, Irish bangers or crispy shrimp.

Friday is BooFest, on a schedule

BooFest on Main Street runs Friday, October 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 8100 Lakewood Main Street. It's free, and no registration is required. Veteran Air presents the event. Kids can trick-or-treat along the street at local vendor booths and merchants, so bring a costume and a tote.

If you don't have a tote, Veteran Air is giving away free pumpkin trick-or-treat totes at its booth to the first 2,500 attendees. That cap is the main reason to show up near 6 o'clock instead of 7:30.

Arriving early also lines up with the Kids' Zone. Grace Community Church sponsors it, with face painting, balloon twisting, inflatables and hands-on experiments. Food and drink vendors will be on the street throughout.

The main stage, programmed by Music Compound, has published set times, so you can plan around the bands:

Set time

Band

6:00 to 6:40 p.m.

Pins and Needles

6:50 to 7:25 p.m.

Solar Apocalypse

7:35 to 8:10 p.m.

Heartbreaker

8:20 to 9:00 p.m.

Funke

The official listing doesn't include event-specific parking or road-closure instructions for 2026. Plan on Main Street parking being busy, and check the event page again before you leave.

One way to build the Friday night

Since BooFest ends at 9 and Delany's has a band starting at 8 on the same street, Friday can run as one long evening:

  1. 6:00 p.m. Head straight to the Veteran Air booth for a pumpkin tote while they last.
  2. 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Trick-or-treat along the vendor booths and spend time in the Kids' Zone while Pins and Needles and Solar Apocalypse play.
  3. 7:35 p.m. Catch Heartbreaker on the main stage, or let the youngest trick-or-treaters call it a night.
  4. 8:00 p.m. Fresh Air Brakes starts at Delany's Public House, 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Resy link on the Delany's music page suggests a 7:30 table for that show.
  5. 8:20 p.m. If you stay outside, Funke closes BooFest at 9.

After Halloween, Main Street keeps going

The next two Main Street dates are already on the calendar. On Friday, November 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., Music on Main: A Tribute to Heroes honors local veterans ahead of Veterans Day. Passerine plays acoustic folk and bluegrass, and proceeds benefit the Sarasota Southside Rotary Club. It's free, chairs are welcome, coolers aren't, and dogs on short leashes are allowed.

A week later, on Friday, November 13, Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee holds its 26th annual Empty Bowls on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both events are listed on the Lakewood Ranch events calendar, the same calendar to check on the afternoons of October 28 and 30 for weather notices and lineup updates.

Main Street and Waterside Place host these nights all season. If you're curious how homes near either one fit your plans, I'm glad to talk it through. Dee Silvestrini can walk you through the neighborhoods closest to the events you go to most. Book an Appointment whenever you're ready.
